A Montessori inspired children's room

Today we delve into the world of the Montessori children's room, in which the children's bed from Benni's Nest plays a crucial role. We've teamed up with Laura from Les Factory Femmes to bring you the best tips and tricks for creating an inspiring and loving children's kingdom.

Montessori: the world of playful learning development.

Promote independence and awaken children's natural curiosity: The Montessori concept is known for its unique approach to child development. Laura shows us how to design a Montessori children's room that not only inspires your children's imagination, but also provides a safe and stimulating environment in which children can discover their individual potential.

A central element of the unique furnishings is the children's bed from Benni's Nest: with its high-quality, durable materials and child-friendly design, it creates a comfortable, beautiful place to sleep. At the same time, the Benni's Nest children's bed is ideally adapted to the Montessori philosophy, which aims to help children develop their independence and explore their surroundings in a playful way.

In conversation with Laura, we got to know her personal approach to Montessori and collected a wealth of ideas and inspiration to transform every child's room into a paradise for little explorers. Whether clever storage solutions or child-friendly decoration: Laura shows how it's done with specialist knowledge and great attention to detail.

Benni's Nest:

Laura, you have been testing our children's bed made of pine and linoleum for some time - we were particularly fascinated by your approach to sleep in terms of Montessori principles. Which features of the cot particularly appealed to you?

Laura:

I found the stone pine particularly exciting as a sleep-promoting material, as we always have problems with the topic of sleep. The shape of the children's bed also really appealed to me because it had the advantages of a floor bed, but also felt like a small nest due to the curves. The fact that the children's bed is now also available with a linoleum coating was an additional plus point.

Benni's Nest:

Have you noticed any positive effects on your daughter? Have there been any changes in sleep patterns or their independence?

Laura:

Yes totally. For us, who didn't have such good experiences with the crib, it was fascinating to see how she suddenly wanted to climb into the crib on her own, wanted to stay there to read and then, over time, said that she wanted to be there want to sleep. I would be lying if I said that she goes to bed alone according to the Montessori principles and falls asleep on her own when she is tired. But her sleeping behavior has really improved thanks to the new ritual of falling asleep in her bed and the feeling that she could climb out again herself helps us so that she doesn't resist going to sleep so much. I think the crib also played a big part in her independence.

Benni's Nest:

How did you perceive the design and functionality of the cot? Did it fit well into the overall concept of a child-friendly Montessori room?

Laura:

I find it very well thought out in both design and functionality. As I said, I find the shape and the contrast between the pine wood and the linoleum particularly beautiful. Since the bed is also made of one piece and is very low, in my opinion it fits wonderfully into the overall concept of a child-friendly Montessori room and you don't have to worry about the child getting trapped or getting badly hurt it should tumble out one day.

Benni's Nest:

As a teacher and mom with an interest in Montessori methods, do you think the Benni's Nest crib is a valuable addition to other parents who also want to create Montessori-inspired nurseries? Why or why not?

Laura:

Absolutely. Both the natural pine wood and the muted color variations of the Benni's Nest children's beds fit visually very well into the Montessori concept. I can also highly recommend the fact that it is deep enough so that a toddler can climb in and out effortlessly, thereby encouraging their independence, for a Montessori-oriented environment. It is an investment - but the fact that it is timeless , durable and also multifunctional speaks for itself.
